Adopt a Caspian Horse with Caspian-Assisted Therapy Today!

The Caspian horse is an ancient species of horse believed to have been extinct for more than a thousand years until rediscovered in 1965. The breed is perhaps the most direct ancestor of the Oriental breeds and, therefore, all light horse breeds. Caspian horses have fantastic action along with speed. They have a natural floating action at every gait with a low-swinging trot and incredible shoulder movement.

Unfortunately, the Caspian horse breed has become endangered yet again, but your support can help save them.

Why Should You Adopt a Caspian Horse?

Adopting a Caspian horse is an excellent opportunity to make a massive difference by helping one of our horses. Your generous contribution is going to provide for board, rehabilitation, medical treatment, and training, along with other costs that are associated with the care of your adopted horse. Here are some reasons why you should adopt a Caspian horse.

  • Caspian Horses Are a Dwindling Species: The breeding of Caspian horses has been impacted by the availability of mares. Note that one stallion can produce hundreds of foals. However, a mare can only produce one foal every year. Therefore, you need to keep the males for four years before they can become a child’s mount or driven horse. The young males take up a lot of space, limiting the number of foals that can be bred in a given year. There’s a dearth of new breeders but unfortunately, there are no mares up for sale. With this in mind, the Caspian horses could do with more love and recognition from horse lovers.
  • Play Your Part in Preventing Caspian Horses from Becoming Extinct: The recession in 2008 in various countries where Caspian horses were bred, along with the loss of two large studs in the United Kingdom has significantly lowered the number of breeding stock. This has restricted breeding to an unknown scale since the breed was rediscovered, endangering it again. By adopting a Caspian horse, you can play a part in preventing it from becoming extinct.
  • Contribute to Caspian-Assisted Therapy: By adopting a Caspian horse, you can help us raise funds to launch a sexed semen programme that will enable us to accomplish more in five years than we have achieved in the past two decades.
  • Perfect for Young Children: The Caspian is a well-built, physically capable, well-balanced horse of elegant appearance that remains highly sought after as a child's riding horse.
